Fudoshin Dojo is dedicated to preserving and transmitting the old Karate-Jutsu of Okinawa, in particular that developed and practiced in Naha in the late 1800s, which later became known as Goju-Ryu. Our Okinawa-based association, Kenshi-kai, operates under the tutelage of Tetsuhiro Hokama Hanshi, 10th Dan. Hokama Hanshi is one of the world's foremost authorities on Okinawan Budo and on oldstyle Goju-Ryu in particular.
Hokama Hanshi's senior representative in North America is Luis Morales Kyoshi, 8th Dan. Kenshi-kai Owen Sound is directly affiliated with Morales Sensei and teaches his curriculum. Morales Sensei is recognized as one of North America's leading teachers of Koryu or ancient Okinawan Karate-Jutsu. His curriculum involves all aspects of oldstyle Karate, including Kata, Basic Waza, Hojo Undo, Tuite, Kyusho-Jutsu and Martial Science. We are intensely focused on the fundamentals! Before anything else, we will teach students how to stand and how to breathe. This is old-school training with an old-school objective: Perfection of character and the self, through unity of mind, body and spirit.
